Terms of Service

1. The service

Ballast generates draft solar permit documents from information you provide, including imagery, survey photos, equipment data and third-party data sources. Output is provided for use by qualified solar contractors.

2. Professional responsibility

You are responsible for verifying every value in a generated plan set and for obtaining review by the contractor of record and, where required by the authority having jurisdiction, a licensed engineer before submittal. Ballast does not provide engineering services and does not guarantee code compliance or permit approval.

3. Access

Access to Ballast Solar is by invitation. The terms of each account, including any trial, are agreed in writing with the customer.

4. Refunds

Refunds, where they apply, follow the terms agreed with each customer.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to produce documents you are not licensed to submit, to resell generated output as engineering, or to interfere with the service's security or billing.

6. Data

Your project data is stored in your account and is not shared with other users. See the Privacy Policy for third-party services used.

7. Warranty and liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ballast is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
